A short book of three lectures Frame gave as the Kenneth Kantzer Lectures at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in November 1988, published by Presbyterian and Reformed in 1990 and reprinted by Wipf and Stock in 1999. The lectures are "The Nature of the Word of God", "The Media of the Word of God" and "The Word of God and Christian Ethics". The last compares existential, teleological and deontological approaches in non-Christian ethics with the existential, situational and normative perspectives Frame holds together in a Christian ethics. In about sixty-six pages it introduces the triperspectival method of The Doctrine of the Knowledge of God (1987) as it bears on Scripture and on ethics, and it is often recommended as a way into his later Doctrine of the Christian Life and Doctrine of the Word of God.
