Five radio talks Ratzinger gave in 1969 on three stations in two countries, published by Kösel in Munich in 1970. The best known, broadcast on Hessian radio at Christmas 1969, asks what the Church of the future will look like and foresees a smaller Church, with far fewer members and little political influence, that would find itself again as a simpler and more spiritual community. The English translation, Faith and the Future, appeared from Franciscan Herald Press in 1971 and from Ignatius Press in 2009.
