Ecclesial Being

A collection of six studies by Zizioulas, published by Labor et Fides at Geneva in 1981 as number three of the series Perspective orthodoxe, edited by Christos Yannaras, who wrote its preface. The preface presents the volume as a study of the link between the truth of the Church, realised in each eucharistic assembly, and the human question of life freed from the limits of space, time, corruption and death: the connection of ecclesiology and ontology. Its key notions are the person or hypostasis, truth, salvation, catholicity and the Eucharist. It appeared four years before Being as Communion (1985) and was later translated into Italian (2007) and Romanian (2007).
