Early Writings in the Philosophy of Logic and Mathematics (Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht and Boston, 1994; xlviii and 505 pages), volume 5 of the English series Edmund Husserl: Collected Works, is Dallas Willard's translation of Husserl's shorter writings on logic and mathematics from the years before and around the Logical Investigations. According to Willard's curriculum vitae it translates pages 340 to 384 of Husserliana XII and all of Husserliana XXII, with two other short pieces, and includes revised versions of translations he had first published in The Personalist in the 1970s: Husserl's "Psychological Studies in the Elements of Logic", his review of Ernst Schröder's lectures on the algebra of logic, "The Deductive Calculus and the Logic of Contents", and his exchange with A. Voigt. Willard's own introduction is included. It was reviewed by Claire Ortiz Hill in Modern Logic.
