The inaugural lecture Caird gave on taking up the chair of New Testament in the Faculty of Divinity of McGill University, Montreal, in 1950, published by McGill University in 1951 as a pamphlet of fourteen pages. He held the chair until 1959, from 1955 also as Principal of the United Theological College there. No copy was examined for this record, so the content of the lecture is not described here.
