The Great Exchange: My Sin for His Righteousness was written by Jerry Bridges with Bob Bevington, his friend and prayer partner, and published by Crossway in September 2007 with a foreword by Sinclair B. Ferguson. At about 300 pages it is the longest of their joint books and the most doctrinal of Bridges's later work. According to the publisher, it begins with the Old Testament sacrifices and the prophecies that foreshadow Christ, then walks through the biblical account of Christ's atonement, linking those Old Testament practices to the New Testament's teaching on his saving work. Its title names its theme: the believer's sin laid on Christ and Christ's righteousness credited to the believer. Bridges and Bevington followed it with the much shorter The Bookends of the Christian Life (2009).
