The Evangelical Anglican Identity Problem
For For an evangelical Anglican weighing whether to stay in a mixed church. Not for a reader outside Anglicanism.
The Evangelical Anglican Identity Problem: An Analysis was published by Latimer House, Oxford, in 1978 as the first of the Latimer Studies (about forty pages). It was addressed, in the Latimer Trust's words, to Anglican evangelicals who were unsure whether it was warrantable to continue as Anglicans. N. T. Wright's Latimer Study of 1980 built on it, and Packer returned to the subject in A Kind of Noah's Ark? (1981). All three were reissued together by the Latimer Trust as Anglican Evangelical Identity: Yesterday and Today (2008), with new prefaces by both authors.
