Collected Letters, Volume I
For For students and devoted readers of Lewis who want his letters complete and annotated; a reference work to consult, not read straight through.
Volume one of the complete edition of Lewis's letters, edited and annotated by Walter Hooper and published by HarperCollins in London in 2000. The three volumes gather Lewis's surviving correspondence in chronological order with notes on the people and events named; this volume covers the letters from his boyhood to his conversion. It contains his letters to his father and brother and to Arthur Greeves, the record of his schooling, his war service and his first years at Oxford, and of the stages of his return to faith. The edition supersedes earlier selections such as Letters of C. S. Lewis (1966) and They Stand Together (1979).
