Sermons on the Book of Revelation, chapter by chapter, first published by Eerdmans in 1959 and in Britain by James Clarke in 1960. Torrance's preface says the expositions were delivered as sermons during and after the Second World War to his congregations at the Barony Church, Alyth, and Beechgrove Church, Aberdeen; they were not meant for publication and appear in the rough hortatory form in which they were preached, at the request of members of both congregations and of university students who wanted a fresh and straightforward account of the meaning of the Apocalypse for today. The seventeen sermons run from "Apocalypse" on chapter 1 through "The Lord God Omnipotent Reigneth" and "The New Heaven and the New Earth" to an epilogue, "The Water of Life", on the last verses.
