Subversive Spirituality
For For readers who already know Peterson and want his shorter pieces on spirituality, pastoral life and the Bible; a miscellany rather than a first book.
A collection of Peterson's shorter writings, published by Eerdmans in 1994 and reissued in 1997 by Eerdmans and Regent College in an edition edited by Jim Lyster, John Sharon and Peter Santucci. It gathers essays, sermons, interviews and poems from across his years as a pastor, on the spiritual life, the Bible, the pastor's work and the place of the imagination in faith. The title reflects a theme that runs through his work: that Christian spirituality quietly undermines the assumptions of the surrounding culture rather than fitting into them.
