Space, Time and Resurrection
For For theology students and thoughtful readers on the resurrection and ascension; demanding, though more direct than his books on method.
An account of the resurrection and ascension of Christ, published by the Handsel Press, Edinburgh, and Eerdmans in 1976, and dedicated to James S. Stewart. It began as a sequel to Space, Time and Incarnation; the preface says Torrance contented himself with an account that grew out of his teaching at the University of Edinburgh. After an introduction the chapters treat the biblical concept of the resurrection, the resurrection and the person of Christ, the resurrection and his atoning work, the nature of the resurrection event, the ascension, the nature of the ascension event, the ascension and the parousia, and Christ as "the Lord of space and time". He argues that the resurrection is a real event in space and time, to be understood on its own terms rather than through a prior scientific or philosophical frame.
