The Case for Calvinism
For For readers who want Van Til's Reformed answer to mid-century liberal, neo-orthodox and evangelical theology; not an introduction to Calvinism.
A book published by the Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company in 1964, in its International Library of Philosophy and Theology. Van Til wrote it in answer to three volumes published by the Westminster Press in 1959: William Hordern's The Case for a New Reformation Theology, L. Harold DeWolf's The Case for Theology in Liberal Perspective and Edward John Carnell's The Case for Orthodox Theology. Against all three he sets what he calls the Christ-centred position of the historic Protestant faith, especially the Reformed faith of Calvin and his followers, over against their man-centred positions. It is one of his most direct engagements with the American theology of its decade.
