The second of the three volumes of Stăniloae's Teologia Dogmatică Ortodoxă, published at Bucharest in 1978 by the Biblical and Mission Institute of the Romanian Orthodox Church as a manual for the theological institutes. The English edition divides each Romanian volume into two: this one corresponds to the third and fourth volumes of The Experience of God (Holy Cross Orthodox Press), The Person of Jesus Christ as God and Savior (2011) and The Church: Communion in the Holy Spirit (2012), translated by Ioan Ioniță. Andrew Louth's introduction to the English third volume describes the Christology as the third half-volume of the Romanian original. The Christology runs from the Word in creation and the Old Testament through the Gospel portrait and the Church's confession of the incarnate Lord to his saving work as Prophet, High Priest and King.
