The first and only volume of Reformatie en scholastiek in de wijsbegeerte to appear in Dutch, published in 1949 (T. Wever, Franeker). Subtitled Het Grieksche voorspel (The Greek Prelude), it reads Greek philosophy up to Plato through the religious ground motive Dooyeweerd called form and matter, as the first stage of an argument that scholastic philosophy compromised the Reformation's starting point. The planned further volumes were not published in his lifetime. An English translation appeared in 2012 as volume 1 of Reformation and Scholasticism in Philosophy in his Collected Works (Paideia Press / Reformational Publishing Project).
