Published at Sibiu in 1942, this is Stăniloae's critique of the philosopher and poet Lucian Blaga, whose philosophy of culture had been read by some as compatible with Orthodoxy. Stăniloae argued that Blaga's system was not a Christian account of God and the world. It is the best known of his polemical writings of the war years.
