Paul at Athens
For For anyone wanting a short, readable statement of Van Til's apologetics through Acts 17; not a technical commentary.
A short pamphlet on Paul's address on the Areopagus in Acts 17, read as a model for Christian apologetics; it was issued by the Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company and the Committee on Christian Education of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Van Til begins with Paul and Barnabas at Lystra and moves to Athens, and argues that Paul did not weave the gospel into the systems of thought men had devised but set the facts of Jesus and the resurrection within the framework of creation, providence and final judgment. He closes by applying this to the church's preaching today: the only method that will suffice is the challenge of the wisdom of the world by the wisdom of God.
